  • Microfiber, Lint Free Detailing Cloth

General Instructions

1. The key to a successful installation is a controlled environment. Installation should be performed in a temperature range of 60º to 90º F. If the film is too cold, it will be difficult to stretch around curves and contours. The installation should never be performed in windy conditions. Once dust or dirt attaches to the adhesive side of the film, it is extremely difficult to remove.

2. In one spray bottle, prepare the alcohol/water solution using the 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. Add about 15-20% rubbing alcohol to any size spray bottle.

3. In the second spray bottle, prepare a slip solution by filling it with water and adding three to four large drops of baby shampoo. The soap solution should sheet off the hood and not produce much soapy froth when properly mixed.

4. Clean the surface thoroughly where the film will be applied. Remove any road tar, grease, oil, wax, dirt, and bug residue.

5. Remove any wax from the surface with 3M Adhesive Remover and a soft cloth. Spray the surface with the water and alcohol solution and wipe away any remaining residue.

6. Review your clear bra on the backing paper. Verify size and placement of all parts before removing liner.

7. Clean your hands thoroughly before removing the film. Even the smallest amount of dirt on your hands will transfer to the adhesive, causing an undesirable fingerprint. Also, always keep your fingers wet with the slip solution to prevent the adhesive from sticking to fingers. It will be necessary to handle the adhesive side of the material occasionally, but make sure any contact with the adhesive as brief as possible. This is important as fingerprints will show through the material.
